Walking into a store or shopping online, and BAM, a bargain, BOGO, 2for1, % discount, SALE pops up!!!! Signs or graphics with rainbows, happy faces, "easy, amazing, life greatly improved or how did you even function before this ever existed in your life" type of language is displayed....
What can you do?
Remember to "STOP" -
Stop
Think (about your budget, wants, actual needs, desires, product lifecycle)
Observe (your thoughts)
Proceed/Plan (Take into consideration the following) -
Will this product matter in your life in 5 years?
Do you already have something that will do the exact same thing?
Can you repurpose an existing product?
Can you borrow?
Why is the urge so great - what else is going on in your life that is telling you need this?
Use youtube - technology can be a resource for finding more eco-friendly alternatives
In transitions to a more zero waste, eco-friendly, minimalist, or sustainable way of life, the reduction of impulse buys greatly reduce waste, stress and, over a period of time, retains more money in your wallet.
